(Estherville)– Two men have been arrested on drug and burglary charges in Emmet county following an investigation into some stolen tools.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says it started back on September 6th when they were notified by the Spencer Police Department that a resident in that community had been approached by someone trying to sell them tools. Upon investigating the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office learned the tools had been stolen from a building in eastern Emmet county. Authorities obtained and executed a search warrant resulting in them finding stolen tools, drugs and drug paraphernalia. That led to the arrest of 48-year-old Curtis Lappegard of Armstrong and 25-year-old Phillip Manz of Fairmont, Minnesota. Both were charged with burglary in the 3rd degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. Manz was additionally charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance…marijuana and possession of hemp for inhalation.
Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens says the incident remains under investigation.
