Stolen Gas Card Results In Charges Against A Number Of People

November 22, 2014

(Langdon)– A gas card stolen from a vehicle in a garage near Langdon has resulted in charges being filed against a number of people.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the card was stolen in early November and was used several times. Over $2,300 in fuel had been charged to it.

Authorities say an extensive investigation resulted in the arrests of Dylan Schmidt of Terril, Shawn Hamrick, Drew Lane and Therron Retting…all of Spencer…and Nathan Miller of Dickens. They were all charged with burglary in the third degree and theft in the second degree.

Brook Richards and Becky Bormann of Spencer were also arrested and charged with theft in the second degree; and Zachary Iseminger of Spencer was charged with possession of stolen property.

Deputies say they determined the suspects had also allegedly been involved in burglaries in O’Brien and Dickinson counties. They say the charge against Iseminger stems from a GPS that was recovered from a car burglary in Sutherland.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation. Authorities say additional arrests are expected. Anyone with any information in the case should contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the Clay County Attorney’s Office, Spencer Police Department and the Sutherland Police Department.
