(Estherville)– Officials with the Stateline Cooperative’s Board of Directors announced today (Mon.) they’ve voted to proceed with the construction of a $9 million dollar feed mill in Emmet county.
KUOO news first told you about the proposed project a month or so ago.
Construction of the $9 million dollar project will be done in phases, with the first being demolition of an existing facility in Halfa, in eastern Emmet county. Construction on the new plant is expected to begin no later than August 1st of this year.
Upon completion the mill will have the capacity to manufacture up to 400,000 tons of meal feed with the option of pelleting 200,000 tons of feed annually. The facility is expected to have an initial demand of 2.7 million bushels of corn per year. That’s expected to increase to 8 million once the plant is running at full capacity.
