(Milford)-A special concert is on tap in Milford this weekend. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The St. Joseph’s Arts Council will present Mogen’s Heroes in concert on Sunday at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford.
Committee Chairman Molly Foss says, the South Dakota-based trio is well-known around the region. “We’re so pleased to have John Mogen and Mogen’s Heroes this Sunday. We tried to have them in concert back in 2020 in April, but of course, covid lockdown prevented us from having them. So, we’re so excited to finally have John and his group with us. They are very well-known. They have been to Iowa Rock the Roof many, many times. They play all over the Midwest, in fact, they’ve been together for 42 years. So, we’re so excited to finally have them.”
She notes that the group will perform a variety of music. “John and his group will be playing traditional hymns, contemporary and old-fashioned gospel tunes with a little rock and roll mixed in with all of the sounds. They’re tremendously talented musicians and vocalists. The evening will be exciting for all.”
A free will donation will be accepted at the concert.
