(Estherville)– Spirit of Harmony holds their annual concert this Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Janice K. Lund Center for the Performing Arts at the Estherville campus of Iowa Lakes Community College. Judy Weipert, Director of Spirit of Harmony, says the are excited…
“We’ve been a chorus for 45 years. I’ve directed the chorus for 25 of those years and we’re just super excited to put on a show at the Performing Arts Center. It’s going to be so great. We have never performed a show there, so it’s going to be a unique experience for us and we are looking forward to it. We want to pack the place.”
Weipert explains what you can expect if you go to the show…
“The name of the show is called Miles of Music. It’s mostly our repertoire that we’ve been working with for a few years and we put in some extra songs that sort of are working with the bike ride theme. We’re going to have three bikes in the lobby that were created by the husband of one of our members, Don Biddle. He just creates these bikes out of just whatever he has around and they’re very unique and fun and you can actually ride them. We will have an actual bike on the stage with us but we don’t dare do any bike riding up there.”
This annual show is one of the chorus’ major fundraisers. You can purchase tickets in advance from any chorus member, at Lewis Drug in Spirit Lake, or at the door the afternoon of the event, which is this Saturday at 2:00.
