(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake woman is among the recipients of the 27th annual Governor’s Volunteer Awards.
Laurie Colt was presented with an individual volunteer award by the Iowa Tourism Department and Iowa Department of Economic Development back on June 17th during a ceremony in Storm Lake.
Colt was honored for serving on the Iowa Group Travel Association, most recently as its President, promoting tourism and group travel to the state of Iowa and the Iowa Great Lakes.
She also serves on the Dickinson County Endowment Fund Board, the Spirit Lake Music Boosters and has served as a past President of the YMCA of the Okoboji’s and at First Lutheran Church in Milford.
The Governor’s Volunteer Award program is coordinated by the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service and the Governor’s Office.
