Spirit Lake –
Voters in the City of Spirit Lake have approved Public Measure A in the special election held on Tuesday evening, March 5th. According to the Dickinson County Auditor’s Website, the measure passed by a total of 270 votes for the measure, with 169 votes against. The yes votes totaled 61.5 percent of the total votes, just barely exceeding the 60 percent required for passage.
The city proposed the 1.35 million dollar bond issue for the purpose of demolishing the existing city hall, and building, equipping and furnishing a new city hall on the same site.
The polls closed at 8 o’ clock Tuesday evening
Of the 3427 registered voters in the City of Spirit Lake, 439 votes were cast, 78 of those votes were absentee ballots.
