(Spirit Lake)-The Spirit Lake Vocal Groups will be performing during the Shake the Lakes Competition this weekend. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Spirit Lake Music Boosters will present the Shake the Lakes Jazz & Show Choir Competition on Friday and Saturday at the Sami Bedell Center for The Performing Arts at Spirit Lake High School.
Club Member Nancy Vierkant says, dozens of groups will compete in the event, and while the Spirit Lake groups cannot compete, they will have a chance to perform during the competition. “Of course, we want to encourage everyone to come out. Our local groups can’t compete in the competition, but they will be what we call Exhibition. It’s kind of your entertainment value as the judges are wrapping up those scores. So, they will actually perform Friday, the Vocal Jazz Group will perform at 5:40, and then we will have our Middle School, Spirit Rising. performing Saturday at 11:50 am, and then our High School JV Group, Sonic Boom, will perform at 5:05 pm, and then, to end and cap off the night, our Music Factory Varsity Group will be performing at 9:25 pm.”
Tickets are $10 per day, with proceeds benefitting the Spirit Lake Music Boosters.
