Spirit Lake Traffic Stop Results In Drug Charges Against Sioux City Teen

(Spirit Lake)– A Sioux City teen faces drug charges following a traffic stop late Wednesday night in Spirit Lake.

Spirit Lake police say an officer pulled over a vehicle driven by the 17-year-old male juvenile shortly before midnight. Following a brief investigation it was determined the juvenile, who’s name hasn’t been released, had been operating the vehicle in violation of the state’s .02 statute.

Police say a subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a controlled substance believed to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The juvenile was released after being cited for possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…a serious misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor; and .02 violation.
