(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake School Board will soon have a vacancy. Scott Trautman announced today (Mon.) he’ll be resigning from his seat on the board effective April 4th. Trautman has served on the board nearly 10 years. Trautman wasn’t immediately available for comment, however in a statement, he says he wants to focus more on his family and work life, adding he was privileged to have served on the board and that every vote he made “was with students’ best interest as the priority”. The board intends to fill the vacancy by appointing a person who will serve up until the November election. Eligible residents interested in the appointment should submit a letter of application, in person, to the Board Secretary within 10 days of publication of the District’s intent to fill the vacancy.
