(Spirit Lake)-The Spirit Lake Police Department says a Spirit Lake man faces numerous charges following an incident on December 16.
Authorities say officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Brown 2000 Pontiac Montana Minivan for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Harley Dean Dugan, age 27, of Spirit Lake, allegedly attempted to elude officers.
The pursuit started at Hill Avenue and 16th Street and concluded in the 1000 block of 12th Street. Dugan reportedly attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by officers after he attempted to enter a residence.
Dugan was booked into the Dickinson County Jail on numerous charges including the following: Eluding or attempting to elude pursuing law enforcement vehicle; Operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense; Interference with Official Acts; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Driving while License Suspended, Denied, Cancelled or Revoked; Light Device Color or Mounting; Fail to Carry Registration Card; Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability; Six Charges of Fail to obey a stop sign and yield Right of Way; Speed 60 mph in a 25 mph zone.
