(Sibley)– A Spirit Lake man has died after falling nearly 60 feet from a wind turbine he was climbing in Osceola county.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says the victim, 33-year-old Christopher Paulette of Spirit Lake, was taken to the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Authorities say Paulette, an employee with Nextera Energy, was working at one of their sites near 110th Street and Van Buren Avenue near Ocheyedan when he fell about 60 feet from a turbine he was climbing.
The incident, which remains under investigation, was reported to authorities around 11:20 a.m. yesterday (Mon.).
