(Spirit Lake)—A Spirit Lake man has snagged a tagged walleye from the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce’s Walleye Weekend.
Dick Cain caught the fish shortly before midnight Tuesday, May 28th off his dock on the northwest corner of Big Spirit Lake using a jig and minnow.
Cain is now $2,249 richer as a result, as he was entered in the Walleye Weekend extended contest.
The fish is one of six walleye that were specially tagged for the event held May 4th and 5th.
