(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop early Thursday at the corner of Highways 9 & 71 and Lake Street in Spirit Lake resulted in the arrest of a man on multiple drug charges. A criminal complaint says a subsequent investigation resulted in police finding marijuana, drug paraphernalia, an unlawfully obtained prescription drug; and ammunition.
44-year-old Paul Keegan was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance…3rd or subsequent offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; unlawful possession of a prescription drug; and dominion or control of a firearm or offensive weapon by a convicted felon. The complaint goes on to state that Keegan had previously been convicted of two felony charges in Woodbury county.
He was also cited locally for driving while having his license suspended, denied, cancelled or revoked.
At last report Keegan was being held in the Dickinson county jail on a $5,000 bond.
