(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake man is accused of setting a fire in connection with an alleged domestic assault.
Spirit Lake police say officers were called around 1:45 this (Thursday) morning to 1703 Erie Avenue after getting a report of a domestic assault at that location.
Upon investigating, officers determined a fire had been deliberately started in the house after a female occupant had been assaulted.
As a result of the investigation, 37-year-old Kirk Crosby of Spirit Lake was arrested on charges of first degree arson…a class “B” felony; and domestic assault causing bodily injury…a serious misdemeanor.
Crosby was booked into the Dickinson county jail.
Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Arnolds Park Police Department and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
