Spirit Lake House Fire

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)- The Spirit Lake Fire Department responded to a house fire on Tuesday afternoon at 2250 170th Street across from Ken-You Park. According to Spirit Lake Fire Chief Dave Kollasch, fire fighters arrived to the scene and faced an already healthy blaze.

Personnel were at the scene of the fire for 4 and a half to 5 hours. Kollasch says the cold weather conditions helped accelerate the blaze and the fire virtually totaled both the garage and house. No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. More details will come on Monday as the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the fire marshal and insurance adjusters.

The Spirit Lake Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire and Rescue and local police agencies.
