(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake Fire Department will hold one of its major fundraising events of the year this Saturday. Fire Chief Pat Daly says they’ll be holding their annual pancake feed that day at the Spirit Lake Fire Station…
“We’re going to be open 7:00 until 1:00. Make sure you come out to see all of the firefighters that are protecting the community. Once again we’ll have the trucks sitting out on the apron so the kids can look at them, even the big kids can look at them. They’re all there for you guys to view.”
Admission will be by a freewill donation. Daly says the proceeds will go toward purchasing equipment for a new rescue vehicle that will soon be joining their fleet…
“We don’t just put out fires any more. We do just about everything else, so we need the extrication, we need the grain bin, water rescue, ice rescue, high angle rescue. All of that stuff is going to go onto this new truck. All rescue tools will be on one vehicle.”
Daly says he was hoping the new truck would be here so they could show it to the public Saturday, but he says the delivery has been pushed back.
