(Spirit Lake)– An audit report on the Spirit Lake Community School district’s finances for the fiscal year that ended June 30th, 2011 shows the district had revenues totaling slightly more than $15.8 million…a 10.8 percent increase from the prior year. Revenues included slightly more than $10.3 million in local tax, charges for service of $1.4 million; operating grants, capital grants, contributions and restricted interest of slightly more than $2.28 million; unrestricted interest of $53,333 and other general revenues of $1.77 million.
Expenses totaled slightly more than $14.1 million…a 0.8 percent increase from the prior year. Expenses included nearly $8.5 million for instruction, $3.6 million for student services; $1.52 million for other expenditures and nearly $530,000 for non-instructional programs.
