(Spirit Lake)-It’s the Annual Bike Ride Around Spirit Lake this weekend. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Spirit Lake Chamber will host the annual BRASL, or Bike Ride Around Spirit Lake, on Saturday, July 13.
Director Regina Reed says they are rides for all abilities. “We have the 15, the 25 and the 50 mile rides. All of them, of course, go through the beautiful Lakes Area so, whichever one you choose you’re going to get to see some great scenery and it sounds like our weather is gonna be just perfect for it. We’re very excited.”
She says registration is still open. “So, the registration is going to be in Downtown Spirit Lake on Hill Avenue right in front of The Venue, which is right next to Sportsman’s Bar. We will be there from 7-9 getting everybody signed up and getting their tee shirts to them and their lunch wristbands and all that sort of thing. After the ride from 11 to 12:30, we’re gonna be doing lunch at Memorial Park. We’re gonna have some games out there. So, if people have time on their hands while they’re waiting to eat they can play some bags and things like that at the park, as well.”
Motorists are urged to exercise caution with about 200 cyclists are expected for the event Saturday morning.
