(Arnolds Park)– A fifth grader at Spirit Lake Middle School has been awarded the 2009 Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association’s Guitar Scholarship.
Brayden Townsend, son of Susan and Lane Townsend of Spirit Lake, received a Gretsch guitar and gift certificates for guitar lessons from Route 86 Music.
Gary Lambert of Route 86 Music worked with the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association to present a guitar recital and exhibit in November to launch the search for a young person interested in assistance due to financial hardship to take music lessons.
The guitar was donated by Gretsch Guitar Foundation of Savannah, Georgia.
