Spencer’s Interim Finance Director Is Coming From Within

(Spencer)– The new interim Finance Director for the city of Spencer is coming from within. City Manager Dan Gifford made the announcement at Monday’s city council meeting…

“Internal candidate Tracy Genson. We’ve promoted her to Interim Finance Director and we look forward to working with her. And to help support her, I’ve contacted two different city finance consultants that both have 20 plus years in city finance and they’re going to kind of work together and help get us through budget time and help train Tracy to get her up to speed on municipal finance.”

The position has been vacant since Brian Weuve left in the summer after a little more than 10 years to take a similar job at the city of Pella.

Attempts by the city to hire the position from the outside have been unsuccessful so far.
