Spencer Woman Charged With Fraudulent Use Of Credit Card

November 22, 2014

(Storm Lake)– A Spencer woman has been charged by Storm Lake police in connection with fraudulent use of a credit card.

Police were told in December someone was allegedly using the credit card of a Storm Lake resident. The card was reportedly used from mid-August 2010 until late September 2010 in Storm Lake, Alta and Spencer.

An investigation alleges the victim’s sister was the suspect in the case. Thursday afternoon the suspect, 20-year-old Larissa Cheevers of Spencer, turned herself in at the Storm Lake Police Station. She was charged with identity theft…a class “D” felony.

Cheevers was booked into the Buena Vista county jail on a $5,000 bond.
