Spencer Traffic Stop Results In Drug Charges Against Two Men

(Spencer)– A traffic stop Wednesday on Grand Avenue in Spencer resulted in the arrests of two men on drug charges.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a 1995 Ford Mustang for a traffic stop. A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up what’s alleged to be adderral pills. Deputies determined they were being possessed illegally.

The driver, 35-year-old Milton Carlton of Spencer, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Deputies also found what’s alleged to be drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. A passenger, 36-year-old John Cole of Spencer, was also arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Carlton was held on a 1,950-dollar bond; bond for Cole was set at 325-dollars.
