Spencer Teaming Up With Keep Iowa Beautiful For Annual Clean-up Week

(Spencer)– An annual city cleanup event in Spencer is set for April 26th through May 4th. Mayor Steve Bomgaars says this is the 4th year for it…

“In the past years we’ve had several different groups, neighborhood groups, church groups, school groups, businesses, service groups, those kind of entities, that have gone out and helped to clean up public areas throughout the community. This year we’re combining that with an effort statewide through Keep Iowa Beautiful and they have a goal this year of getting 2,500 volunteers during that week throughout the state. I think that’s very a doable goal so we want the groups to keep track of the number of actual individuals that volunteer and we’ll report that back to the Keep Iowa Beautiful campaign as well.”

Bomgaars says they’ll be putting out additional information as the event approaches.
