(Spencer)– The Spencer Retail Kickstarter Committee has awarded a loan to the Bearded Dog Taproom, LLC to purchase what formerly was known as The Iowa Project Brewing Company building at 316 Grand Avenue in Spencer. A press release doesn’t mention a dollar amount of the loan.
The Retail Kickstarter program is a partnership between the city of Spencer, several banks, Spencer Main Street, Spencer Municipal Utilities and the Spencer Chamber of Commerce. The goal of the program is to support new and growing retail businesses, contributing to economic growth and job creation.
Since its inception in 2018, the Retail Kickstarter Program program has assisted 12 businesses in Spencer.
