(Spencer)– Spencer police have launched an investigation into what is being described as an “out of state cash for gold company”.
Authorities say the “Treasure Hunters Road Show” out of Springfield, Illinois was in Spencer at the Clay County Regional Events Center July 10th and 11th and pulled out unexpectedly on the 12th. Police say they started getting complaints about checks being returned from those that sold jewelry, coins and other valuables at the event.
Spencer police say anyone who conducted business with the “Treasure Hunters Road Show” July 10th and 11th and had their check returned should contact them.
