(Spencer)– Spencer police believe they’ve solved a recent rash of vehicle break-ins with the arrests this past weekend of two teens.
Authorities say the arrests stem from a complaint they received shortly after 3:30 a.m. Saturday of a suspicious vehicle seen leaving a parking lot after an occupant in that vehicle was allegedly seen trying to enter several vehicles.
Police located a vehicle matching the description a short time later and pulled it over on Country Club Lane in west Spencer. A subsequent investigation resulted in officers finding a .25 caliber handgun, a laptop computer, purse, electronic equipment and other miscellaneous property matching that which had been reported stolen recently.
Two 16-year-olds, Kyle Strohman and Jordan Adams…both of Spencer…were taken into custody. Both were charged with several counts of third degree burglary…aggravated misdemeanors; one count of burglary in the second degree…a class “D” felony; and possession of a controlled substance–marijuana. Both were transported to the Youth Emergency Services Center in Cherokee.
As a result of that investigation, a search warrant was executed at 3330 240th Avenue of rural Spencer. That resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old Ligorio Fernandez-Auolos of Spencer, who was charged with forgery, possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Clay county jail.
Police also arrested 38-year-old Mildred Bryant of Spencer who was charged with child endangerment.
Police say the investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
