(Spencer)– Spencer residents will once again have an opportunity to learn what it’s like to be a police officer.
Spencer Police Chief Mark Lawson says his department will hold its seventh annual citizen police academy Tuesday evenings March 17th through May 19th. The sessions will last an hour and-a-half.
Topics will include communications center operations, 911, constitutional law, search and seizure laws, laws of arrest, use of force, traffic enforcement, radar, lidar, OWI enforcement, DRE, crime scene processing, criminal investigations, drug investigations, search warrants, juvenile probation, adult corrections, jail field trips and ride-alongs.
Applications can be picked up at the Spencer Police Department.
There is a 35-dollar fee that includes the cost of materials and supplies.
Attendees must be atleast 18 years old.
