Spencer Man Sentenced On Federal Meth Charge (1)

November 22, 2014

(Sioux City)– A Spencer man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison on federal meth charges.

25-year-old Eder Noe Sosa-Jimenez received the term after a jury found him guilty in September of last year of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine; distribution of meth; distribution of meth while using a minor; and possession of meth with intent to distribute.

Evidence during the trial showed Sosa-Jimenez was involved in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine between November 20th, 2007 and April 17th, 2008. Court documents say Sos-Jimenez brought the meth from Las Vegas, Nevada to Spencer. The documents say he also distributed about three pounds of meth during the conspiracy, and that a minor was used in one transaction.

In addition to the prison term, Sosa-Jimenez must also serve a 10-year-term of supervised release.

He’s being held in the custody of a U.S. Marshal pending transport to a federal prison.
