(Spencer)– A Spencer man has announced his candidacy for Representative of House District 2 in the Iowa Legislature. City councilman and longtime Spencer High School teacher Steve Bomgaars is running for the position.
The newly realigned House District 2 includes all of Clay and Palo Alto counties and the southern four townships of Dickinson county.

Bomgaars is also a member of the Spencer School Foundation Board of Directors and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
His wife, Marti, is an Occupational Therapist with Prairie Lakes AEA. They have two grown daughters and two grandchildren.
