(Storm Lake)—A Spencer man faces drug and alcohol charges following an incident early Sunday at a Storm Lake bar.
Storm Lake police say officers were conducting a bar check at Malarky’s Night Club when they observed an underage male allegedly in possession of alcohol. 20-year-old Kyle Fuhrman of Spencer was taken into custody. Officers escorted Fuhrman to his vehicle so he could lock the doors. Upon arriving at the vehicle police could detect the odor of what was alleged to be marijuana. Officers subsequently located drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and seized it.
A subsequent investigation resulted in Fuhrman being arrested on charges of possession of alcohol, public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into jail on a $600 cash bond.
