(Spencer)– The Spencer Retail Kickstarter program is assisting with the retention and expansion of a couple of businesses in that community. The new owners of Carroll’s Bakery are receiving a loan to assist them in the purchase of the longstanding business. A Kickstarter loan has also been authorized for an expansion of JCL Solutions/Spencer Office Supply.
The Retail Kickstarter program consists of a number of partners including the City of Spencer, Spencer Main Street, several financial institutions, Spencer Municipal Utilities and the Spencer Chamber. Sheriffa Jones, Retail Kickstarter Administrator, says the goal of the program is to support new and growing retail businesses in Spencer contributing to economic growth and job creation.
A press release doesn’t mention the dollar amounts of the loans that were awarded.
