(Spencer)– The Spencer Daybreaker Kiwanis Club will hold its 4th annual “Touch a Truck” event tomorrow (Sat.) from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Clay County Regional Events Center in Spencer. Megan Jones is one of the organizers of the event. She says they’re expecting about 50 vehicles again this year…
“We bring working vehicles from our community to the Event Center parking lot from 10:00 until 1:00 on the 13th and then families and kids and adults can all go around, walk around these vehicles, experience them, touch them, see them, and really get a hands-on perspective of what these drivers and what these workers are dealing with every day.”
Craig Neiderheiser, who’s also helping out with the event, says there will be a suggested donation of $10.00 per family…
“We like to give back and that’s what the Kiwanis are all about. But we also like to supply money that goes toward our foundation that can help with giving back to area seniors, and so we have every year a scholarship award. And so we’ve been building in the last decade an endowment fund that we can use in the future to help fund the scholarship dollars.”
Again the event will be tomorrow (Sat.) from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Clay County Regional Events Center.
