Spencer Collision Results In One Person Having To Be Extricated From Vehicle

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision Saturday at the intersection of Highway 71 and seventh avenue southwest in Spencer resulted in one person having to be extricated from their vehicle.

Spencer police say 51-year-old Karen Ebersole of Storm Lake was attempting to make a left hand turn off Seventh Avenue onto Highway 71 when she collided with a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Bruce Lingbeck of Spencer.

Jaws of Life equipment was used to extricate Ebersole from her vehicle. She was then taken to Spencer Hospital where she was treated and released.

Lingbeck complained of possible injuries, but wasn’t transported.

Seven thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2003 Hyundai driven by Ebersole and to a 2006 Lincoln truck driven by Lingbeck.

Ebersole was cited for failure to yield.

The collision took place shortly before 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
