(Spencer)– The true impact of last June’s flood on valuations and property taxes in Spencer remains somewhat uncertain, however City Manager Kevin Robinson says he’s received information indicating the overall impact may not be as severe as first thought…
“We’ve received a lot of questions about what the property tax base in the community will do after the disaster. It’s been determined by the county assessor that while there are properties that were impacted that will decrease in value and neighborhoods, overall as a city, we will be neutral to plus one percent in our property tax valuation in the next tax cycle, so that’s good news from a stability perspective on property valuations.”
Robinson gave the update at last week’s Spencer City Council meeting.
