(Spencer)– The Spencer City Council Monday approved a professional services contract with an engineering firm for possible improvements to the aquatic center, construction of a splash pad, and a campground. Bob Fullhart, the city’s Parks and Recreation Director, told the council this is the very first step in the process that could lead up to work on those projects…
“Bolten and Menk is writing up the proposal. It will start setting up so that way we can have some of our community meetings on this to get community input on it, and then do come conceptual design for us for this. So it’s just kind of the next phase of this project. Right now we’re looking at, these are potential locations, but we’re looking at the splash pad being just around the aquatic center area, the campground being just to the south of the aquatic center. So there will be a lot of opportunities for different input on it and for us to continue to build off of that.”
Fullhart says they plan to gather that input through public informational meetings and online surveys.
