(Spencer)– After months of delays to iron out details, the Spencer City Council Monday evening approved the preliminary and final plats, giving Kwik Star the go-ahead to proceed with construction of a store at the North Y. A representative with the convenience store chain thanked the council and city officials for helping them make the project possible…
“We have over 800 stores in four states, soon to be six states this year. Unlike other convenience store chains, Kwik Trip and Kwik Star is vertically integrated. At our La Crosse campus we have a dairy plant, sweets. bakery, bread and bun bakery, and kitchen where approximately 70 to 80 percent of our offerings in our stores are made. Deliveries are made from La Crosse to each store to provide the freshest products to our guests every day. So we make it, we ship it, and we sell it. So I just want to say that we really look forward to bringing a store to Spencer, providing great customer service, clean stores and fresh products at a good value.”
Construction on infrastructure in the North Y development where Kwik Star will be located is continuing and is expected to be completed in time for the company to begin construction, possibly beginning in June, 2024.
