Spencer Awarded RISE Grant

(Spencer)– The city of Spencer has been awarded up to $833,125 through the Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy program. The Iowa Department of Transportation Commission, which administers the program, awarded the grant at their meeting today (Tues.).

The funding is through the the Business Relocation and Job Retention Local Development program. It will go toward the construction of about 864 feet of 4th Avenue West on the north side of Spencer, along with 955 feet of 37th Avenue West on the city’s west side.

Officials say the project will provide access to 10 lots totaling about 52 acres. The project is scheduled for completion by November, 2026.
