Special Traffic Enforcement Program Gets Underway

November 22, 2014

(Undated)– As we reported previously, you can expect to see an increased presence of law enforcement officers on the road beginning today (Wednesday 3/17).

It’s all a part of a special traffic enforcement program, or STEP, that runs through this coming Sunday, March 20th.

Officers are on the lookout for impaired drivers, speeders, those not properly buckled up, and other offenses.

A number of local law enforcement agencies are particpating in addition to the Iowa State Patrol.

The crackdown is intended to decrease the number of fatal crashes and other incidents on the state’s roads.
