Special Program Planned To Honor Veterans In The Area

November 09, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Veterans and the general public are urged to attend a special event Thursday in Spirit Lake. Denny Perry, Commander of the Spirit Lake American Legion, says the Spirit Lake High School and Middle School will be putting on the event at 9:00 am at the Sami Center…

“The keynote speaker is going to be Mr. Alan Smith and there will be other things that the school has put together to honor the veterans there. It’s open to the public and they want as many people there as they can get, and all of the veterans, especially, come on out and be honored for their program.”

Perry adds he will be putting on special events for veterans at the Dickinson county nursing homes on Friday, which, of course, is the actual observance of Veteran’s Day.

Perry also reminds everyone of the Spirit Lake American Legion Auxiliary’s annual turkey dinner on November 13th from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the post headquarters on 15th Street in Spirit Lake.
