Southern Minnesota Crash Injures NW Iowa Teen

(St. James, Mn.)– A two-vehicle collision Sunday on Highway 60 near St. James, Mn. injured a Paullina teen.

The Minnesota State Patrol says vehicles driven by 18-year-old Rachel Bird of Paullina and 28-year-old Jay Warner of Madelia were westbound. Authorities say the two collided as they were mergin on an overpass. A 2007 GMC Yukon Bird was driving wound up in the eastbound lane and a 2005 GMC Sierra Warner was driving came to rest in the north ditch of the westbound lane.

Bird was taken to the St. James hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No injuries were reported to Warner.

Damage estimates to the vehicles weren’t available.

The collision took place shortly after 6:00 p.m.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Fairmont Police Department, the St. James Police Department and the Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office.
