South “T” Crash Injures Three

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision Friday at the South “T” in Spencer sent three people to the hospital.

Spencer police say 26-year-old Laura Bowman of Emmetsburg was eastbound and was proceeding through a green traffic signal while 57-year-old Garold McQuire of Spencer pulled into traffic heading northbound when the two colldied.

The impact caused the vehicle Bowman was driving to spin around and hit the back side of the one driven by McQuire. Both vehicles came to rest facing east.

McQuire and a passenger in his vehicle, 60-year-old Edna Rigy, along with Bowman, were taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital with possible injuries.

McQuire was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2002 Chevrolet blazer driven by McQuire; a 1998 Cadillac driven by Bowman sustained an estimated eight thousand dollars in damage.

The collision took place around 12:30 p.m.
