(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake Police Department and Iowa Department of Natural Resources arrested two men on drug charges over the weekend at the Highways nine and 71 boat ramp in Spirit Lake.
Authorities say 43-year-old Kevin Simmons of Spirit Lake and 31-year-old Jason Scott of Estherville were found to be in possession of a green leafy substance alleged to be marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia.
Simmons was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…fourth offense; Scott was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…second offense; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both men were booked into the Dickinson county jail pending an appearance before a judge.
The arrests were made shortly before 10:00 p.m. Friday.
