(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop Sunday on Hill Avenue in Spirit Lake resulted in the arrests of two men on drug charges.
Spirit Lake police say an officer pulled over a vehicle around 6:30 a.m. for a traffic stop. Upon investigating an officer discovered the driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Benjamin Westhoff of Garretson, South Dakota, was allegedly intoxicated and was in possession of what’s alleged to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Westhoff was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance…marijuana.
A passenger, 22-year-old Michael Dendinger of Coleridge, Nebraska was arrested and charged with public intoxication…1st offense; possessionof a controlled substance…marijuana…1st offense; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were booked into the Dickinson county jail.
