SL Traffic Stop Results In OWI, Drug Charges Against Kansas Woman

(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop early this (Friday) morning in Spirit Lake resulted in drunk driving and drug charges being filed against a Kansas woman.

The Spirit Lake Police Department says an officer stopped a vehicle around 2:30 a.m. on Highway nine in Spirit Lake.

Upon investigating it was determined the driver, Elizabeth Abbey of Prairie Village, Kansas had allegedly been driving while intoxicated.

Abbey was then placed under arrest.

A subsequent search resulted in the discovery of what’s alleged to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Abbey was booked into the Dickinson county jail on charges of operating while intoxicated…first offense; possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; improper registration plate lamp and no insurance.
