(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop early Sunday in Spirit Lake resulted in the arrests four men and two juveniles on drug and alcohol charges.
The Spirit Lake Police Department says an officer pulled over a vehicle shortly after 12:30 a.m. being driven by 22-year-old Mitchell Schoenecker of Lakefield.
Upon investigating the officer discovered Schoenecker was allegedly intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container.
A subsequent investigation resulted in officers discovering several passengers in the vehicle were allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia and open containers of alcohol.
20-year-old Andrew Broten of Lakefield, 20-year-old David Pell of Jackson, 20-year-old Billy Hampel of Spirit Lake and two juveniles were all arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and open container. The adults were booked into the Dickinson county jail; the juveniles were cited into juvenile court and released to a parent.
