(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop Tuesday evening in the 600 block of 18th Street in Spirit Lake resulted in drug charges against two people, including a juvenile.
Spirit Lake police say an officer could smell marijuana as he approached the vehicle, which was subsequently searched. Upon investigating it was determined 19-year-old Joel Seeliger of Spirit Lake and a juvenile female were in possession of what’s alleged to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Both were charged with possession of a controlled substance…a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor. Seeliger was booked into jail; the juvenile was referred to juvenile court services and was released to the custody of a guardian.
