(Spirit Lake)—A traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 71 and 34th Street in Spirit Lake back on January 6th resulted in the arrest of an Okoboji man on a drug charge.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Ryan Dykstra for a traffic violation.
The department’s K-9 unit made an indication on the vehicle. A subsequent search turned up what’s alleged to be methamphetamine.
Dykstra was arrested and booked into the Dickinson county jail on a charge of possession of a controlled substance…a serious misdemeanor. He was later released after posting a $1,000 bond.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spirit Lake Police Department.
