(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop this (Wed.) morning in Spirit Lake landed a man in jail on drug and traffic-related charges.
Spirit Lake police say an officer pulled over a vehicle for speeding shortly after 8:00 a.m. in the area of Erie Avenue and 28th Street.
Authorities say the driver, 32-year-old Adam Taswell of Spirit Lake, refused to sign the traffic citation. He was then arrested and the 1999 Pontiac Grand Am he was driving was inventoried, resulting in officers finding a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, drug paraphernalia and prescription drugs.
Taswell was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…a class “D” felony; possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor; possession of prescription drugs…a class “D” felony; no insurance…a simple misdemeanor; and speeding…also a simple misdemeanor.
Taswell was booked into the Dickinson county jail.
