(Spirit Lake)– Residents of the Spirit Lake School District head to the polls Tuesday (9/11) to consider adopting a revenue purpose statement specifying the use of proceeds from the state one cent local option sales tax. If approved, it would also extend the effective date beyond the current date of December 31st, 2020 so that when new bonds are issued they will be covered under the new revenue purpose statement. The new statement would remain in effect until amended, with no expiration date.
Funds can be used for construction, demolition or remodeling, site improvements, technology, buses and other equipment.
School officials say it would have no impact on business or residential property taxes.
Polls will be open Tuesday (9/11) from 12 Noon until 8:00 p.m. at the Dickinson County Community Building in Spirit Lake.
